We have spent the past 5 summers as a family at DCL & this is our first "winter" stay. Our boys (now 10 & 11) have had plenty of summer "firsts" on the lake and now have had their first ski experience at WISP. They're hooked! We will most certainly consider another visit. The house is charming - we prefer the classic lake homes to the "McMansions". Our only suggestion for improvement would be a few more kitchen utensils such as a paring knife & better spatula. Thanks for making our 2005 thanksgiving a lifetime memory.

Thank you for sharing your darling home with us for the Christmas holiday. We had such a nice time. Enjoyed the fire, view & all the nice touches you folks provided. We were fortunate enough to stay through Tuesday morning. So we had days in the 50's and then snow on Monday. Best wishes to you for a happy, healthy 2006.

Thank you for sharing your home with us for the New Year. We enjoyed our stay. The view was nice and we loved having a fireplace. It really made the place cozy. The extra activities (games, pool table, poker and books) were great! We got such use out of them.

Great place, very convenient. Our suggestions: 1.) New Grill - the one you have works OK but is very rickety & rusted. 2.) Decking around the hot tub (which was a pleasant surprise we weren't expecting. 3.) List the DVD player as an amenity (we brought our own). Enjoyed it!!! P.S. We had a half a bag of charcoal left and we put it in the basement closet near the basement door.

This is the coolest cottage I've ever been to. All six of us had fun. We don't have a boat yet but we'll get one soon. Lake looks beautify from this cottage. I wanted to bring a book along but I forgot it. So when I got here from Newport News, VA I saw my favorite series, The Hardy Boys. I can hardly wait to read one!!! Sincerely Justin Murray.

The above comment is from my Grandson. Our stay in your home was great! This is our first visit to Deep Creek for a week long vacation. I read through the previous comments and gathered my thoughts before I started my comments. Your house is just fine the way it is. The hot tub was a very nice addition, something we didn't expect. I would return, and will with my family if no other additions were added. The house was very clean and in good working order. I thought that the mattresses were okay and we all slept good. The kitchen was in good shape with plenty of pots & pans, glasses, plates and utensils. AC would be nice. The pool table was used a lot and really enjoyed it. Decking around the hot tub is not necessary. Overall this was a great time! One of our best vacations. We will recommend your home to our friends and will be returning. Thanks so much.

Congratulations on buying your lake home. This is our second visit. We love your home, but don't remember the mattresses being quite so bad. (With 2 people in bed it was virtually impossible to sleep). We lucked out again with the beautiful weather. It was a great family get-away!! P.S. The hot tub was a great addition. Thank you for sharing your lake get-a-way with us

Would suggest to better clean plow driveway. Cars were left parked on side of road. Several of us slipped within our walks up and down the hill. Could not make use of fireplace because vent would no stay open. You don't have a peeler. Would suggest new sleep sofa, springs are broken. Would have enjoyed time in Jacuzzi but of course would have to shovel to get in so we passed. We were looking forward to enjoying it fully and did not after a hard day skiing would have been nice to relax in. Thanks for Candyland game, our 6 year old enjoyed. And importantly were are your dumpsters. Didn't see them anywhere. Which I could be compensated for my stay but... I spent lots of money on salt since my car was stuck.

We had a great time at your cottage on the hill and enjoyed skiing at the WISP. The snow conditions were excellent. We had no problems with the fireplace vent. It must have thawed since your last guests. Did they really go to Deep Creek Lake, in the winter, with a 2 wheel drive CAR!! We highly recommend this cottage. It has superior lake views and is very clean and tidy. Thanks for sharing your house.

Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home and for allowing us to bring our dog. It was exactly what we wanted. We spent our mornings hiking and afternoon's boating. Being able to dock at Honi Honi's in the afternoon for a drink was great. The house was well furnished but you could use more coffee mugs and also a better large skillet for your kitchen. We really enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. Thank you again for letting us stay. We will be back.

Three fishing fanatics. The cottage was great, clean and well cared for. We did not use the hot tub but it looked very inviting. We had very hot weather the first couple of days and a couple of thunderstorms to watch but the evenings were comfortable. Fishing was excellent, between the three of us we caught and released lots of pike, smallmouth bass, pickrel, yellow perch, largemouth bass and various sunfish. Your dock provided easy access to all areas of the lake.

Your home was perfect for our vacation! We had four adults and three children (3 to 7 years) for the week - and even with two more adults visiting for a couple days we were all very comfortable. There is something for everyone here and between outings everyone was occupied with your books, games, the hottub, or just enjoying the views. I think we did just about everything we could cram into one week: Garrett County Fair, Swallow Falls, Broadford Park, Fishing, Horseback Riding (recommend Circle R Ranch), Go Karts at The Fort, Mini-Golf and Games at FunLand, and of course, the new Mountain Coaster at Wisp. My husband and I even had a parent's night out to have a couple drinks at the Honi Honi and grab a movie. Your cabin was the perfect location central to all the activities. Thank you!!

My weekend up in Deep Creek and our stay at the lakehouse was just what the doctor ordered! it was so peaceful and relaxing that i finally was able to catch up on some much needed sleep! the area is smaller than i thought and was hoping to do a bit more shopping so it was a good thing we brought along the Mad Men TV series--it was great that the house came equipped with a DVD player! We could not have asked for better weather and it got perfectly cool at night to spend some time in the hot tub! we really enjoyed our stay--everything was super clean and comfy---my only suggestion would be to remind people not to burn wet wood in the house--it smelled a little like a campfire inside the house for about a day and a half. We're hoping to come back up during the winter to go skiing and will bring friends this time so we can enjoy the game room downstairs! Thanks to Kevin for all his suggestions and making our stay a smooth one--we did make it to swallow falls and it was as beautiful!

There was snow on the ground and falling upon our arrival, that really put us in the festive mood. Your house was very welcoming and inviting, we were comfortable almost immediately. We found everything that we needed in the kitchen to make all of our planned meals; the beds were extremely comfortable, we all slept well. Looking out the many windows at the beautiful views while the fire was burning in the fireplace was most relaxing. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We have already talked about coming back. We would definitely recommend Our Lake Front. We just returned from our vacation there and already would like to go back. The house was well equipped, cozy, and comfortable. We cooked, baked, and grilled and had everything we needed in the kitchen. There were plenty of towel hooks & racks and clean bed pillows. The view of the lake was spectacular from the whole front of the house and the porch. The yard and circular driveway were perfect for outdoor games. What surprised us the most was how appealing the house was to 4 teenage children. The downstairs area was perfect for them with the small pool table, poker chips, card table, door right out to the hot tub, and a TV for their rainy day video games. It was great having our own boat slip and being able to see our boat from the house. We planned on having a fun and relaxing summer vacation, and that's just what we did!

Best bargain was the movie theatre. Under $20 for all four of us.

The house was very cozy. We are an older couple and appreciated not having to climb up and down stairs. We planned on renting a boat but it was a bit cool, so we just enjoyed time on the dock. Sitting on the porch and enjoying the beautiful view from the dining rm windows. The seclusion of the place was a nice surprise. We took trips into town and to the state park with our dog. It was so convenient to all the restaurants and shops. Will definitely go back again.

We loved this house....We arrived in a blinding snow storm, so it was a bit hard to find, and were so glad that we had three Four wheel drives (yeah Subarus!!!) as the drive hadnt yet been cleared, but was fine with our 4wheel drive. Everything was cozy, lots of firewood for great fires, great kitchen for cooking for many..the bedrooms were cozy, the beds comfy (except the pull out couch..better left to kids who might not notice as much!!!), plenty of blankets and things...all was well, the guys used the hot tub and loved it also...we had a wonderful hike in the snow at the waterfalls, and it was spectacular with the ice...all in all, it was a great 3 days!!! and the owners were so helpful and nice! Definitely recommend the house...

Our plan was to relax and enjoy our time in the mountains. Part of the plan was skiing at Wisp, my husband and friend went but it was -7 degrees and windy and I am a fair weather skiier. We still had a lot of fun at the resort riding the mountain coaster. Since it snowed everyday, we didn't get an opportunity to get to Muddy Falls (my husband and I have been there in the past). Maybe next time! Although we had a great time, I would really like to visit the lake in the spring or summer.

Thank you so much for having us in your Deep Creek cabin. We were excited to spend a long weekend and relax, yet we found too much to do and not enough time to do it. Between dining at local restaurants, playing at the go-cart, battling cages, mini golf center, clay shooting, shopping, movies and sitting by the fire, we found time to relax in the hot tub and enjoy a few drinks. And even though the water was a low 50 degrees in the lake we got the courage to run across the street and jump in from the dock. Good thing the hot tub was a toasty 100 degrees when we got back! We are excited to come back soon to enjoy boating and maybe horse back riding! Thanks again!

This was our third stay at Our Lake Front. Once again the house was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The new bathroom is a very nice upgrade. Our prime goal is spring fishing and Deep Creek Lake is one of the best places in MD to catch a variety of sport fish. Pike, Pickerel, Perch, Smallmouth and largemouth bass were our mainstay catches but the lake also offers several other species. Access to the lake, boat slip and parking for our boat trailer make this home hard to beat.

We all had such a great time while staying at this wonderful lake house. It had everything we needed and the location was great. This being our first time visiting, we brought way too much stuff; the place had just about everything we needed with the exception of sheets and towels. The grocery stores were close as were all the restaurants. We especially loved being able to bring our very spoiled dogs. They had a great time swimming and hiking in the state park. Enjoyed our stay. We rented a boat for 5 days and the dogs and us really enjoyed the time spent on the lake. We were disappointed and concerned about the heavy flow of traffic crossing Garrett Highway. The kitchen is nicely equipped but the in fridge ice and water dispenser does not work. Hot tub was clean, we enjoyed the time we spent in it. The spot lights for the yard are burned out. We purchased a flashlight for the yard and in case of an electrial outage, since there wasn't one and no candles if needed. Bathrooms were very clean. Living room carpet is stained and dirty, really needs to be cleaned. We lucked out with cooler weather, but was surprised there is no ac for warm days. Since I have asthma you should probably state the house is not air conditioned. We enjoyed the lake and will return in the future.

My husband, my daughter, my mother and I planned on leaf-peeping, shopping, visiting parks, relaxing, and recuperating (post-surgical knee and bad foot). We enjoyed parts of Autumn Fest, Sam played 2 rounds of golf, the dogs enjoyed the yard and chipmunks, and we toured nearby towns and attractions. The house was very adequate - I love cooking and I did! Recommend Archies BBQ, golf at Wisp and Oakland, and take your camera. Lake was beautiful, house was very convenient, and nature did not disappoint. We read, chatted, did some mending, fed those chipmunks, walked in the parks, went to a winery, and created memories we'll never forget. It was a perfect time.

Back for our second wintry get-away, my partner and I planned to rest, relax and enjoy the scenery and that's just what we did in this cozy home away from home. Long time fans of the area, especially Swallow Falls, we had 2 outdoor missions. 1) Locate a cranberry bog rumored to be in the area. Reports on the Herrington Manor website alluded to one there but the good folks gearing up for cross country ski rentals were not familiar with such a spot. We resolved to enjoy a snowy walk and complete the second part of our mission - to see SF's in the the snow. It was the perfect time to do this because there were only a few inches on the ground and we were able to do some actually hiking. It was gorgeous and magical as ever, beautiful icicles everywhere and even some ice-kayakers on the water! The rest of the time we spent enjoying the Lake Front amenities and each other. We will be back, possibly with friends!

The cottage was cozy, clean and comfortable. The skiing was very good for March. My 4 year old grandson had his first ski lesson Friday. The guys ( myself and my two son-in-laws) skied until dark. After a day on the slopes we enjoyed dinner in front of a nice fire in the beautiful stone fireplace. Saturday was another great day of skiing. My wife went antiquing in Oakland. I went skiing with my daughters today. The guys baby sat. After a dinner of my homemade chili we jumped in the hot tub and later played games and had great family time. I enjoyed the view of the lake and the fireplace. The location is close to everything. They had some great deals at the sports store. There is so much to do and see in the Deep Creek area. As much as we like to ski the summer would be fun too. We are looking forward to a return trip soon.

We just returned home on Saturday from our week stay @ ourlakefront. What a relaxing vacation. Even on the rainy days(2) we enjoyed the hot tub, playing pool, and taking drives on country roads to soak in the beauty of the area. When our sons arrived they enjoyed swimming, tubing, boat rides, and exploring the areas shops, and entertainment. Even though it is situated on a very busy rte 219,the home is situated up on a hill and provides ample privacy. We had all the necessities of a home away from home. It would be nice to vacation there sometime in the winter, to experience the contrasting seasons.

We planned on riding the Wisp downhill ride, playing putt-putt and walking to Swallow Falls. Only thing that was a surprise, was the size of the yard. The most fun we had, was (probably) sitting around the table playing games. I would recommend going to DEEP CREEK for any reason, at any time the mood strikes you and you have some money to spend! We just love it, and it didn't matter that it rained all weekend and was in the early 40's! We loved our stay! Great time with great friends!!! We enjoyed our stay at your lake front home. Since the weather was a little rainy and chilly the first day, we enjoyed relaxing by the fire and watching a movie. The home is very comfortable and has a very nice view of the lake. We also enjoyed the hot tub. The home was clean and cozy. The house had plenty of info for local activities. We found the falls a nice day and got great pictures. We had the most fun at wisp resort. There haunted house was super! and the mountain coaster is a blast. We also checked out the Husky power. Recommend for true dog lovers) What surprised us the most was how early some places close. If your looking for peaceful do as you wish time alone with putt putt, horse backing riding, shopping, dinning then deep creek is what you need. My friends and I stayed at Our Lake Fronts home at Deep Creek Lake, MD. We had the best time of our lives! Though, there was a water leak in the basement when ever someone showered. We non the less... Had an amazing time and want to continue to go back to this same location to relive all the memories we made at this home! Only real complaint any of the 8 of us had... was walking back up the drive way. ha-ha but that's not a real complaint. Its nice and private. The dock and home are located in the middle of all of your needs at Deep Creek.. It really was perfect. The hot tub was amazinggggg!  The dock we lovely. Nice to have our own private dock rather than a shared dock. Like I said, we will certainly be returning!

We enjoyed a great week at the Lake Front House. The house is a bit older but very well maintained and clean. We especially enjoyed the large covered porch with view of the lake, the fireplace, the grill and the fantastic hot tub. It's in a great location convenient to shops, grocery stores, and Brenda's Pizza and coffee shop are a short walk down the road. The fact that it is dog friendly is a huge bonus. It has a great private dock a short walk down the driveway and across the road for sunning, swimming and docking our rented jet skis. A great house at a fair price.

We had an amazing time here! There was 7 of us and 5 of our furry children. the dogs had a blast on all the hikes, the scenery was beautiful, and of course jumping off the dock. We mostly explored the local parks with the pups, and fished almost every night and day. but there were a few days we left the, behind. One day we went to wisp and rode the mountain coaster! And did the chair lift tour. We ended our week with a pontoon rental and explored the lake! It was an amazing weekend, and a great place to stay we will definitely be back, maybe to enjoy some snow this time!

We enjoyed our stay. In the mornings, sitting on the front porch, drinking coffee admiring the beautiful view of the lake. Laying on the private dock, listening to the radio and getting some sun. Swimming and jumping from the private dock was a hit for my kids. I enjoyed late evening fishing from the private dock. Excellent location if your a boat or jet ski owner. You are minutes away from arcades, miniature golf and go cart tracks. After the long day at the lake, we relaxed in the hot tub. I do recommend Brenda's Pizza which is minutes away from the house. We definitely enjoyed our stay and will go back there in 2013.

My recent stay was cut short due to Storm Sandy. In other words our stay was short but sweet. Owner very accommodating to our needs. Kitchen very well stocked, and the house is very clean. The porch swing and hot tub helped make our stay very relaxing.

We went up with some friends and family for my husbands birthday weekend. It was perfect, We had a great time sharing meals, taking hikes, and hanging out in the hot tub. It was a great place to get away, relax, and focus on family and friends. Comfortably sleeps 10 (as long as there are 4 couples), there are also some fun shops and places to go in town. The fireplace and hot tub were great!

Our family get away ski weekend was awesome. The 12 inches of snow made the skiing great. We enjoyed the convenient location, the view of the lake and the fireplace (wood provided) and the hot tub. Great for soothing the muscles after a day on the slopes. We enjoyed spending time with our kids and grandkids. The place is comfortable, clean and cozy. My wife enjoyed shopping and antiquing in Oakland. This was our second stay and plan to come again in the summer months to enjoy more of the lake activities, hiking and golf.

Vacation and the house was great. It was our first time in Deep Creek and we loved the simple relaxation. Having the own private dock was great to set up shop for the day with a cooler, music, and fishing poles and kayaks. My dog loved the trip as well, which was probably the #1 reason we rented this house. She was able to swim everyday and play in the water. It got down to about 50 a couple nights so we used the hot-tub to relax as well which was very nice to have. 4Wheel Drive is definitely needed in the winter as it its pretty steep, but for our trip it was not a problem.

We went hiking at Shallow Falls with the dog, Horseback riding, we brought our Kayaks and fishing poles. And our favorite thing to do is EAT and Mountain State Brewing was awesome! Great beer, and even better flat bread pizza. It is a must stop and family friendly, even have games for the youngsters to stay busy with while you enjoy yourself. Whether you wanted to go to Oakland or McHenry the house is located right in the middle of both locations. Made for an easy ride home from wherever you went out to eat.

Kevin the owner of the house was very prompt on every email and question I had leading up to the trip. Having Verizon cell service, it is very spotty and slow for your internet access but for being up there to relax, it was nice to get "away" from the outside world. House is large, there were only 2 of us, but could easily sleep 8-10. Thanks again Kevin for a great trip and wonderful time. Next year if we come back we will probably bring friends or family as well.

My family and I have stayed here several times and often twice a year. The cabin is centrally located. We often take trips to Swallow Falls or over to the Wisp. Having the dock is a great bonus. Even times when we do not bring our boat we know we have a nice place to swim. This year the big bonus is being able to bring our dog. Staying here is like being in a second home. We love it.

My husband and I decided to get out of DC and into the mountains for our 3rd yr anniversary. SO happy we chose Western MD and this rental cabin because the price was perfect, the cabin was clean and homey and the views of the lake for sunrise (we woke up early with our dog for it both mornings) were stunning.

We spent the first afternoon at Swallow Falls State Park and it was GORGEOUS! A short drive and barely anyone there at that time of year. Beautiful mossy Eastern Hemlock and White Pine trees with a number of lovely short hikes to each of the waterfalls. The drive to the state park made it feel like we were on the west coast. Just gorgeous. We spent the remainder of the time in the cabin cooking (great grocery, liquor stores nearby! and as an avid home chef, the cookware at the cabin was more than enough!), hanging out in the hot tub (this was a must for us!), building fires during the chilly nights while our dog slept nearby, and exploring the area by driving around and seeing the rest of the town.

Highly recommended for anyone wanting something low key but with all the amenities you'd ever need for a great getaway. I have so many great photos to last us a lifetime. Thank you all so much for such a great experience!
